Lost Foam Systems—Product Detail
The Lost Foam system, developed and improved by FATA Aluminium since the early 1980’s, is a highly innovative process for large volume production of complex castings in aluminium alloys and iron such as cylinder heads, engine blocks, manifolds, gear cases, etc. In this process, metals is poured onto a polystyrene pattern that has been inserted into loose unbounded sand.
This technology offers significant advantages in decreasing overall casting weight and reducing machining operations.
By combining several castings as one you can create complex internal passages and near net shape castings thus reducing production costs. This process is also one of the most environment friendly casting processes available today.
